Staff Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION: Staff Accountant


SUMMARY:

FIVE19 is looking for a Staff Accountant that is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records to track the Agency’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. Accountable for all financial procedures and advises the CEO on general financial matters. This position will work with the Director of Operations to oversee monthly client invoicing.  

REQUIREMENTS:

Part-time, minimum of 24 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
  • Maintains the general ledger.
  • Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books.
  • Reconciles all financial and bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries.
  • Invoices clients and ensures that clients are paying in a timely manner; manages accounts receivable collections.
  • Verifies and completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
  • Pays all the Agency’s expenses timely.
  • Manages and reconciles credit cards; handles employee expense reports.
  • Develops company budgets and manages client budget trackers.
  • Forecasts, compiles, analyzes, and reports financial data.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records.
  • Provides CPA with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual tax filings.
  • Coordinates with vendor to maintain accounting system; makes recommendations to enhance the accounting procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant finance experience.
  • Must have a strong understanding of finance and accounting.
  • Ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Expert level knowledge in QuickBooks.
  • Must have the ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong technology skills are required, particularly expertise with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state and local tax regulations.
  • Advertising agency experience is preferred, but not required.
