how it began

It’s always been about family.

On 5/19/2005, everything changed for our founder, Derek, when his daughter, Sydney, was born. That date became more than a birthday — it became the inspiration behind FIVE19. A year and a half later, the agency was launched with a simple idea: to build meaningful, caring relationships with clients and create work that feels new, purposeful and rooted in care. For us, it’s always been about people first — our clients, their communities, and our team. Because together, we’re family.

What creative services do you offer?

We are a full-service advertising and marketing agency, which means we do everything from strategy to execution. Starting with immersion sessions, we get to know your community to assess and evaluate how your residents see themselves. From there we’re able to arrive at recommendations for when and where we can get maximum exposure for your brand and develop creative concepts leading to executions such as television commercials, photoshoots and print ads. We also design, develop and host websites, produce digital campaigns, brochures, collateral and direct mail. If your audience can watch it, read it, or experience it, we can do it. And do it very well.

Do you design websites?

Yes, and we love creating beautiful, user-friendly websites that are optimized for search and built to convert. As with all websites, those we create perform best when supported with digital services like SEO, SEM, automation, and well-optimized multi-touch campaigns.

Do you offer SEO and SEM?

Absolutely! We know it can be hard to stand out online with constant algorithm updates and citation sites pumping out massive amounts of content, so we create custom strategies to support your community, ensure you rank well and make an impact in your target markets.

Do you work on retainer or on a project basis?

Typically, we experience the best results when we work as the agency of record (AOR) for your community. However, we can absolutely start our relationship on a project basis — it all comes down to your needs at the time. Whether it’s work that does not require support after launch or you’re looking for a dedicated team to support your community’s goals long term, we are ready to be the perfect partner to meet your needs.

What is your pricing structure?

“One time” projects like website redesigns, television commercials, or brochures are typically billed as scope projects. This means we develop a scope of work and budget to encompass everything that is included in this project, and it is a one-time cost. Ongoing work throughout the year on multi-channel campaigns, direct mail pieces, reporting, strategy development, creative briefs, and any other needs are best accomplished through a retainer. Scope projects are billed at $175/hour, and retainers are billed at $150/hour, with a predetermined number of hours agreed upon to accomplish all goals.
